Every child in our care deserves to be protected from the misuse of photographic and video images of themselves, taken whilst they attend the Nursery.

It is our policy to use photographs taken in the nursery to support the children’s learning and also to record children’s individual progress.

Photographs taken in the nursery are to support children’s learning and also to record children’s individual progress through all EYFS.

Photographs should be taken in a way that shows the child engaged in activities and should not be posed for.

Permission from parents/carers must be sort before any photographs are taken. Permission must be given to take photographs of their own child for use in their own profiles, other children’s profiles and in displays. Permission is obtained through the ‘Important Information and Consents’ form.

Dragonfly Day Nursery must ensure that additional permission is sort from parents to use the children’s photographs for staff training, advertising and company purposes.

Photographs recorded in nursery as part of a normal day are taken using a digital camera and are only taken by members of the staff team. To ensure safeguarding requirements are being met no individuals may use their own photography equipment and also photographic evidence remains the property of the setting and must be handled accordingly. Photographs are not permitted to be taken home in printed or digital form.

Photographs can only be used on the main computer which is overseen by management.
